A real red-letter day in 2020 saw the arrival of the very first Rubber Duck sculpture at St Michael’s Hospice. Affectionately known as Albert, this duck represents the first in a brand-new sculpture design from event partner, Wild in Art.
Charlie Langhorne MD and co-founder Wild in Art said
“well hello Duckie! We’re delighted to be working with St Michaels on this quackers initiative. It’s always been a dream of mine to develop one of Wild in Art’s mass participation public art trails with a giant duck! The duck shape will make an excellent canvas and I can’t wait to see what the artists come up with.”
Follow that Duck, will bring peoples and communities together as they become “runner ducks” to seek out each design. Albert has now made a nest in the main Hospice Reception, greeting staff members as they arrived for work.
