Introducing the Pride of Hastings

In September 2020, Albert was delivered to local artists, Mark and Issi Fisher to receive his new coat of feathers.  And what a fine coat it is!

Albert is now known as the ‘Pride of Hastings’ and depicts many of the best loved local buildings and landmarks of Hastings and St Leonards.  From Hastings Castle underneath a shower of fireworks, to Winkle Island.  From the Pier to the Marina to our own RNLI station and the famous netsheds, there are so many things to see – seagulls and mermaids – it is truly a work of art.

Pride of Hastings will form part of the Follow that Duck trail coming to the streets of Hastings and Rother in the summer of 2022.  Our ‘rubber duck’ sculpture art trail will offer the chance to breathe deeply and enjoy some time focusing on personal wellbeing, and that of our families and friends. Stroll, cycle, run or jog between the ducks taking time out of your busy day to follow the wellbeing suggestions at each location – maybe looking out to sea, concentrating on breathing, gentle exercises, reflection and mindfulness exercises.
